Elizabeth’s Hearing Loss Claim against Lee Jeans and Fisher Body / TK-ECC Claim settles for £13,536.25. Elizabeth worked in Lee Jeans in Newtownards between 1991 and 2001. Whilst employed there, she was exposed to excessive noise from stitching machines and also noise emanating from the stone washing of the jeans. Elizabeth also worked for TK-ECC at their Dundonald Factory making seatbelts between 2001 and 2004.
Following these employments, Elizabeth became aware that her hearing was deteriorating. She also had a long standing complaint regarding a humming noise present in both of her ears which she found particularly irritating.
Elizabeth contacted MMC Legal and spoke to a member of our Hearing Loss Specialist team for more details. It became clear that she was suffering from noise induced hearing loss and tinnitus and this was confirmed by a hearing test and consultation with an ENT Surgeon.
MMC Legal opened discussions with the other side promptly and secured a £13,536.25 settlement award against both former employers.
